Bablake Pupils Impress At Engineering Masterclass Sessions

Congratulations to 3rd year pupils Molly Harkin and Harry Loud, who have both enjoyed attending recent Engineering Masterclass sessions at the University of Warwick.

While some of their peers have been enjoying a Saturday morning lie-in, Molly and Harry have been hard at work over a six week period learning about a variety of aspects of engineering. Sessions included work on intelligent vehicles, 3D printing, making solar trees to collect sunlight, coastal engineering and the power to process information.

Molly particularly enjoyed the 3D printing where her idea for a device to store ear pieces from a phone or MP3 player was one of only a few selected to go forward to be printed. The result of her ingenious idea, in the shape of a rabbit, is shown in the photograph supplied by Head of Design Technology Mr Chris West.
