Pressure Point For Engineering Education Scheme Team

Archive Archive

Our L6th Engineering Education Scheme team started to feel the pressure when it presented its work to a group of engineers at Arup headquarters in Solihull at the start of April. With just four weeks to go before the final assessment, the group took the opportunity to run through its presentation skills in front of 20 engineers and designers.

Following a confident 15 minute talk involving all members of the team, there followed a friendly grilling from the audience. Plenty of praise was heaped on the team, but there were also many suggestions for improvements and some excellent advice on technical issues and ideas.

The team now has the Easter break to hone its presentation and try to emulate last year's Bablake team that won its regional assessment day.

Many thanks to our link engineers, Chris Jackson and Tian Coulsting, for setting up the lunchtime session, and all their help and guidance over the course of the project.

Thank you to Mr Chris West (Head of Design Technology) for filing this report and sending the photograph.
