Wheelchair Basketball Runners-Up

At the start of April, Coventry Wheelchair Basketball Academy’s U15 team travelled to Sheffield to take part in the National Finals of the Lord’s Taverners Junior League.

The team featured two Bablake pupils, Peter Cusack and Sameer Rehman. In the 1st round, CWBA took on Tees Valley Titans, winning 18-1, while the next game against Wakefield Whirlwinds was a much closer affair, with CWBA eventually closing out the win by just two points.

The final was the tightest game of all, a very competitive and hard-fought battle with the scores level for long periods, but Northern Ireland emerged victorious to take the gold by 22-21, leaving CWBA disappointed but proud winners of silver medals.

Congratulations to all those involved, but especially our Bablake duo.
