Sun Shines on Sports Social!

Last week, we celebrated the end of the Internal Examinations for Shell pupils through to 4th years with our first Sports Social Evening. This was hosted at our Playing Fields and everyone involved in our extensive programme of winter, spring and summer sports for Shells to 4ths was invited.

The weather was tremendous, allowing pupils and staff to share some competitive mixed rounders and parents to bask in the sunshine, either by our pavilion or around the year group games. The evening was completed by excellent food provided by The Whole Pigroast Company. The latter was very much the object of animated conversation around the water coolers on Friday morning, as everyone was talking about the superb photographs the company had taken of the event, similar to the one accompanying this news item. 

Mrs Sue Smith (Head of Girls' PE) commented: 'Thank you to everyone who attended our sports social on Thursday. You certainly brought some fantastic sunshine with you, which made for a most enjoyable evening! It was also wonderful to see the camaraderie brought through sport both on and off the pitch.'

Mrs Smith added a special thank you to Mrs Bradley and Mrs Harrison for their delicious homemade cakes.
