Design Exhibition Offers Inspiration

Senior School Food and Textiles

A Textiles trip to London's V and A museum has offered a group of our 3rd year pupils inspiration for their Textiles GCSE course which they will embark upon next year.

The highlight of the visit for pupils and teachers alike was seeing Alexander McQueen's 'Savage Beauty' exhibition, which celebrates the extraordinary creative talent of one of the UK's most innovative designers of recent times and is, in fact, the first and largest retrospective of McQueen's work to be presented in Europe.

Later this week, we will hear the perspective of our current Art GCSE pupils who will also have the opportunity to see the same exhibition. For one of our Art teachers, Mrs Amy Cassell, the visit will be even more interesting, since she worked with the designer after her degree.
