Bablake's Will Tastes Life As A Wasp

Senior School Sport

Bablake U14 player Will Canning had the time of his rugby life last Saturday when he played at the Ricoh Arena in a community match arranged by Wasps RFC.

Will was selected for a Wasps Community Barbarians team that played against the Wasps London U14s minutes after last weekend's dramatic last gasp European Rugby Champions Cup quarter-final win for the senior Wasps side against Exeter RFC.

Playing against a team that had been together for a few years was obviously going to be tough, but the Barbarians scored two late tries and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, which also included use of the official changing rooms and a meal in the Legends Lounge after the game.

In the week an exciting new initiative, City of Rugby, was launched with the aim of making Coventry one of the the leading cities in the world for every level of the game by 2023, the question we are also asking is... who will be Bablake's first Wasps player in the future? Maybe, after Saturday, one of our U14s will be dreaming it will be him!
